6 points for 'no insurance'.
There could also be a fine of £400+

Trailer B+E Test Preparation CourseThe course is 1 1/2 days long with the test on the second day. The test is marked at the level of HGV and therefore is of considerable higher standard than the regular practical driving test. It is not just about reversing with a trailer, it is also about improving your own driving skills.

The course starts at 8.30am and finishes approx 4.30pm on the 1st day. You will have 2 small breaks and a lunch period. The course will include trailer use and the law, loading and coupling plus the off-road handling exercise. You will need the standard B Class licence to undertake this course. The following day the B+E test will be arranged and you will have training before the test. The course fee includes hire of the trailer for the test.

We use an Ifor Williams BV85G Braked Box Van for our tuition which comply's with all the current regulations for the B+E Test with a MAM of 2700kg.

Customers come to us from all over the UK because we can offer B+E on an intensive one on one basis, with a high pass rate, that many of our competitors choose to carry out over a 3,4 or even 5 day periods.

By training with us we aim to get you through your B+E test quickly, easily and save you money. From an Employers view we aim to keep your operative off of work for as little time as possible and successfully train local council operatives, Forestry Commission e.t.c in this fashion, and that's why people travel to us from a far.

Towing Regulations
Towing regulations are quite complex. There are exceptions where you can tow an average caravan with a car having passed your test after 1997 depending on the weight of the towing vehicle and caravan. Most commercial trailers, horseboxes, large caravans are way in excess of the allowable weight and would require this B+E test.

Vehicle HireWe will also supply if required a suitable training vehicle, this is currently a Kia Sorento equipped with dual controls & audible indicators when towing, although if preferred you are welcome to use your own vehicle if suitable.

Select Driver Training Ltd are a registered approved training provider for Farming Connect.
